MacWorld Expo

I am in the market for a new computer, so I was very happy that the girl at the store told me to hold off for a few days since the MacWorld Expo started today. And of course at the end of the keynote address Steve Jobs announced a new laptop, the Macbook Pro. So now I need to hear more about it. Anyone know anything? (I'm looking at ed and Scott...)

the article i read before the conference started today was hinting at the switch over to the intel chips away from the power pc chips. not sure if that was the actual "surprise", just what i read.

Yeah that was the surprise. The new Macbook Pro is the same size and price as the 15.2" Powerbook, which is what I was planning to buy. Theoretically Mac is switching all computers tot he intel chips by the end of 2006.

Yes gentleman you are correct. Mac has switched to Intel processors since IBM could not put out faster chips especially for Powerbooks. The new Macbook Pro has a duo core intel processor which is two processor on one chip. All the inside stuff runs faster and there is a new superfast graphics card that would make you the envy of all those gamers. It comes with Front Row which is a cool little program for quickly navigating your music, photos and movies. It also comes with the new iLife 06 which is up to date programs of iTunes, iPhoto, etc. Here is the website: http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

Ah, but the new Playstation 3 is supposed to have 7 processors on on three chips, plus one of the two new DVD formats. ha ha. That's the envy. And it won't be as piss poor as the new Xbox 360.
