aIt's a good thing we gained an hour of sleep Sunday, because it's was a long weekend. I thought I would skip out on Halloween, I just wasn't feeling up to it and I didn't have a costume. Luckily Friday was a fun day in the office and my co-worker Morgan had a spare costume at home. Out I go, waiting for the costume to show up. It took a while, and I caught a lot of flack, but eventually it led me to the priesthood.
The next night I went to a murder mystery party at Carly and Matt's. It was a Vegas theme, and I was Ace High, the high rolling millionaire bachelor who had recently gotten married on a bet. Knowing she was just after the money, I lost it all on a basketball game. No worries though, I've been embezzling funds from the casino with help from the security guard. With all that intrigue, is it any surprise that I was the victim?
Turns out my jilted wife (standing by the door) killed me to keep me from laying hands on her recent mega lottery winnings.
I was a little nervous about how it would go, but everyone really got into it and we had a good time. Ted (above) was a slots player trying to move up to the big tables. Of course we had to play some cards, and being a flashy guy, I went all in on 5-6 off suit, and won with a straight. Good times.
To cap off the weekend, I had some friends over for a bit of pickling and apple-saucing, along with some soup. Katie and Liz baked some rolls and cheese biscuits, as well as Katie's tomato jam which was delicious.
All in all it was a great weekend.
